Obituary for Carolyn Thompson Carolyn A. “Nan” Thompson, 77, of Rock Hill passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. She was born April 7, 1941 in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late Odell and Mamie Moss Ashley. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her beloved husband of 59 years, Sidney M. Thompson; daughter, Sheila T. Edwards; and sister, Frankie Everidge.

Nan grew up in Indian Land, married the love of her life and raised her four daughters. She will always be remembered for her sense of compassion and humor. She was loved by anyone she ever met and will be deeply missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Ashlyn T. Armstrong, Christi T. Brookshire and husband, Gene and Stephanie T. Root and husband, Josh, all of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Cory Scyphers and wife, Anna, Audri Brookshire, Zack Scyphers, Lauren S. Williamson and husband, Travis, Jordan Brookshire and Sydney Glaeser; great-granddaughter, Evelynn Scyphers; brother, Heyward Ashley and wife, Velma of Lancaster; sister, Patsy Moore and husband, Barry of Indian Land; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced when finalized. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nan’s memory to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
