Cecil Lloyd “Butch” Hutchings Cecil Lloyd “Butch” Hutchings, 57, of Rensselaer passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Franciscan Health Rensselaer. He was born on January 27, 1961, the son of Ronald Hutchings and Betty (Dearchs) Hutchings. Cecil graduated from Calumet Baptist High School with the Class of 1979.

He worked as a plant manager for Smith-Van Keppel Redi-Mix in DeMotte. He attended the Fellowship of Living Hope Church in Rensselaer. Cecil was a loving father, grandfather, brother and son.

He was kind-hearted and always put others first. He loved the Lord and was very active in his church. Cecil had a wonderful sense of humor and thought he was the funniest guy in the world.

He said he was “always in his right mind because he was left-handed”. And his favorite saying was “it will grow back”. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He enjoyed being outdoors, golfing, fishing and going to the racetrack every weekend to watch the race. He also enjoyed cooking and he loved to sing. Cecil is survived by his four children: Shannon (Jacki) Sumner, Kurt (Cynthia) Sumner, Tangaira (Brandon) Linn, and Heidi Hutchings; the mother of his four wonderful children, Debra Krown-Hutchings; eight grandchildren: Mikayla Jade, Christopher, Christian and Tomas Sumner; Bryce, Tristin, and Ariel Jade Hutchings; and Dallas Linn; three brothers: Mike Hutchings, James Hutchings, and Jeff Hutchings; and three sisters: Sue Vincent, Becky Bussard, and Patti-Jo Raush.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ronald and Betty Hutchings. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Fellowship of Living Hope Church, 3850 Bunkum Rd. , Rensselaer, IN 47978.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. at Fellowship of Living Hope Church with Pastor Edwin Bontreger officiating. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements. Share memories and condolences at www.
