Obituary for Jack Fleming Jack J. Fleming, 81, of Rensselaer, passed away at his home on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born in Rensselaer on August 17, 1936, the son of Gaylord O. Fleming and Frances (Payne) Fleming. He graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1955.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Jack was a plumber and worked in the maintenance department at St. Joseph’s College during the 1970s and 1980s. He was also a farmer.

He was a member of the Rensselaer Moose Lodge and he enjoyed basketball and football. On May 26, 1959, in Rensselaer, he married Linda S. (James) Fleming. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2014.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: two sons, Robin Wayne Fleming and Jeffrey David Fleming; his parents, Gaylord and Frances Fleming; and one brother, Donald Fleming. He is survived by: two sons, Monte Fleming and Jack Tyler Fleming; two brothers, Larry Fleming and Jerry Fleming; one sister, Carol (Martin) Yoder; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Per Jack’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services.
