Obituary for Charles B. Johnson Charles B. Johnson, 89, of Winemiller Lane, Lumberport passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Mansfield Place Nursing Home in Philippi. He was born September 8, 1929 in Fairmont a son of the late Emmett C. and Madeline E. Slocum Johnson. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. Boggess Johnson who passed away on October 18, 2006.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah A. Nay of Shinnston; Judy L. Kazimer and her husband Mark of Newton Falls, OH; and Sondra J. Allen and her husband Timothy of Philippi; also surviving are his grandchildren, Timothy; Elizabeth; Michelle; David; Stephanie; Brandon; and Brian; as well as 10 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Doris J. Johnson of Cleveland, OH; and his former wife Vivian Johnson who survives in Texas. In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Oscar W. and Robert C. Johnson. Charles served our country in the U.S. Army.

He retired from General Motors and moved home to build his dream, a log cabin on Jones Run. He loved his home where he gardened and spent time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting guns and reloading ammunition.

He also enjoyed going to the Bi-County Nutrition Center in Shinnston. The family will receive friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm. Cremation will follow the service and his remains will later be laid with his wife Doris at the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison County Humane Society at 2450 Saltwell Rd.
