Charles William Eberhart, 87, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019. He was born in DeKalb County, Alabama September 8, 1931 to the late William Love Eberhart and Maybelle Johnson Eberhart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Eberhart was retired from the U.S. Postal service and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he had served as deacon and Sunday School teacher. Mr. Eberhart was a member of the Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department and was the caretaker of Adamsburg Cemetery for many years. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev.

Shaunathan Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, % Ruby Baker, 1295 Skyline Ave. Fort Payne, Al. 35967.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Imogene Beaty Eberhart; daughters Renae Darr and husband, Doug and Gwen McClendon and husband, Trey; son-in-law, Ken Horne; brother, Hugh Eberhart; grandchildren, Christina, Charles, Heather, Matthew, Holli, and John; and great-grandchildren, Anna Marie and William. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Horne; brother, Harold Eberhart; and sisters, Ruth Nappier and Mary Morgan.
