Charles L. Barnes, Jr., 79, of Lakeville, died Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Benter officiating.

Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www. RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Charles graduated Shreve High School in 1956. He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard for over 5 years. Charles married Janet {Dull} Barnes on March 5, 1960.

He was a truck driver for 31 years, until his retirement in 2002. He attended the Ripley Church of Christ. He enjoyed camping, fishing and family get togethers.

Charles will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years; children Darrell (Paula) Barnes of Rittman, Douglas (Sheila) Barnes of Big Prairie, Dustin (Dawn) Barnes of Lakeville, Dirk Barnes of Wooster, and Darcie (Joe) Sutton of Lakeville; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Beverly Cain, and Betty Jean Leathers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Charlynn and grandchild Mike sister Barbara Teague.
