Charles “Cologero” Scrimale, 94, of Lakeland, passed away Thursday at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was born in Canicatti, Sicily to the late Louis and Josephine (Bordonaro) Scrimale in 1924 and immigrated to the US in 1959. Charles worked at the former Marcellus Casket Company for about 10 years.

He later worked at Allied Chemical for over 20 years before retiring in 1986. Charles had a great passion for gardening year round and wine making in the fall. He was a member of Geddes Senior Citizens.

Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances, his son; Lou Scrimale, of Camillus, sister-in-law; Esther Rufo, of Fayetteville, brother-in-law; Charles Scrimale, of NJ and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
