Cheryl Lynn Nelson, 40, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born November 27, 1978 in Eugene, Oregon to Kenneth Ray Nelson and Janice Margaret Landers, she was raised in Raleigh, NC. She worked for Litchford Falls Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as Director of Housekeeping.

When she was able to cook, the kids just loved her shrimp jambalaya. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her kids, and most of all spending time with her “big brother, Kenny” and his family four wheeling. In addition to her parents, Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory her four children, Anthony Nicholos Nelson , Dion Xavier Nelson, Daisha Nicole Nelson, and Ayonnia Chantel Nelson; sister, Teresa Nelson-Ray (Gerald), of Wake Forest, NC; brother, Kenneth Nelson (Jennifer), of Knightdale, NC; and Mindy Nelson of Raleigh, NC; 6 nieces and 5 nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. A graveside service (1:00 pm) will follow visitation at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family gratefully acknowledges and deeply appreciates the many acts and deeds of love, care, kindness and concern extended to them during the bereavement of our loved one.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Duke Cancer Institute, Hospital and Transitions LifeCare who gave care to Cheryl. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 in care of Cheryl Nelson.
