Christopher Doyle Derrick, 81, husband of the late Annie Ruth White Derrick, of 115 Pastureside Dr., Walhalla, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Derrick was the son of the late Charlie Ansel and Dessie Arizona Moore Derrick. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Derrick is survived by a son: Anthony “Tony” Doyle Derrick of Walhalla; daughters: Regina Derrick Lewis of Walhalla; Rita Bates (Will) of Walhalla; Mary Lawing (Rick) of Westminster; and Christina Ruth Moore (Bobby) of Westminster; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Derrick was preceded in death by his sisters: Hazel Clark and Lola Mae Derrick; and brothers: Hubert, Curtis, Charles, and Grady Derrick. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 1, 2019 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to: Poplar Springs Baptist Church, PO Box 458, Walhalla, SC 29691. The family is at the home of his daughter, Rita Bates, 1595 Highlands Hwy, Walhalla, SC 29691.
