Doreen C. Rubel, 80, wife of Robert “Bob” J. Rubel, of 409 Berry Lane, West Union, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Ellenburg Nursing Center in Anderson, SC. A native of Revere, MA, Mrs. Rubel was the daughter of the late Herman William Winters and Margaret Ester Ahman Winters. She worked as a banker at several banks throughout her career, and created Skidmore College Student Credit Union in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Mrs. Rubel was known for being very artistic, and as a loving wife and mother who cherished all of her family and friends. She was of the Lutheran/Roman Catholic Faith. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rubel is survived by her son: Mark Rubel of Greer, SC; daughters: Renee Rubel of Seneca, SC and Michelle L. Davis of Wilmington, NC; brother: Peter Winters (Mary) of New Orleans; grandchildren: Erin F. Davis and Ryan N. Watts; nieces: Deborah Eisenhauer, Peggy Filling, Karin Wallis, Donna Head and Lynn Gibson; nephews: Scott Winters, “T.R.” Theodore William Rubel, III.

, Richard Rubel and Michael Rubel; brother-in-law: Theodore William Rubel; and sister-in-law: Janet Rubel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rubel was preceded in death by her brother: Robert “Bobby” Winters. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel.
