Obituary for Clarece Kilpatrick Garrett Graveside services for Mrs. Clarece Kilpatrick Garrett, age 90 of Haynesville, LA will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville with Rev. Jeff Tinsley officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Haynesville.

Clarece passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Arcadia, LA. Clarece was born in Claiborne Parish on August 4, 1928 and finished High School in Atlanta, AR and started teaching Sunday School at Cotton Valley First Baptist Church at first grade level and taught at other churches throughout her lifetime. She finished her teaching career with the Joy Class at First Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA after 25 to 26 years.

In her lifetime Clarece was well known for her cooking and sewing skills. She was amazed at the amount of food she would freeze and can during the summers. She was a great inspiration to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Unconditional love was shown to all. Visitation will be Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10:00 a.m. until 11: 30 a.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home in Haynesville, LA. Survivors include her son, Jerry Glen Garrett and wife Donna of Burkeville, TX.

her daughter, Judy Garrett Mize and husband Billy of Quitman, LA. five grandchildren, Martin Carl Garrett and wife Margaret, Christopher Scott Garrett, Christian Thomas Garrett and wife Dean, Lea Anne Mize Shows and husband Jason, and Stephen George Mize, four great grandchildren, Wade Garrett Shows, Drew Matthew Shows, Bella Garrett, and Roary Morgan, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins in Arkansas and Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Kilpatrick and Lessie Keen Kilpatrick, husband of 55 years, Glen Garrett, brother, Reginald Kilpatrick, sister, Bernice Foster, daughter-in-law, Mary Garrett, sister-in-law, Maxine Bailey.
