Clarence Russell “Russ” Proescher, 93, of Westminster, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born October 31, 1925 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Clarence Louis and Verna Dorthy Sommers Proescher. He was the loving husband of 59 years to the late Anna Marie Proescher.

Russ was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Irvington and First Assembly of God in Westminster. Russ enjoyed playing cards, but… above all, he loved taking care of other people.

Surviving Russ are children Linda Catania, Carol Holland, Joyce Hudgins, and Jeff Proescher; grandchildren Erin Krell, Angela Catania, Kate Catania and Jonathan Proescher; and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 6 siblings. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
