Obituary for Concetta “Connie” Pitcher (Tedesco) WATERVLIET – Concetta “Connie” Tedesco Pitcher, 86, died peacefully Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Troy Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing with her loving family at her side. Connie was born in Watervliet on October 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Capone Tedesco. She was raised and educated in Watervliet and was a resident for most of her life.
She was employed as a nurse in the maternity department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, Marshall Ray & Son in Troy where she met her late husband Albert and last by Times Mirror Magazine Publishers as a key punch operator. Connie dedicated her life to her family. She was the best babysitter ever to her three granddaughters and would work different shifts to be able to look after her grandchildren.
She was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church and presently the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was an avid walker and loved her bingo. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert C. Pitcher who died in 1986; loving mother of Linda S. (Marty) Trela of Watervliet and Laurie J. Pitcher (Scott Cadan) of Rotterdam; adored grandmother of Sarah J. Trela of Latham, Brittany C. Trela (Matt Williams) of Guilderland and Lindsey N. Bacher of Rotterdam; dear sister of Clementine (late Jack) Cronin of Watervliet and Salvatore (late Gail) Tedesco of Colorado.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her nephew, Rev.
John Cronin. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
