CORKEY LEE LONG age 82, of 732 Cavel-Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC died Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at his home. Mr. Long was born February 25, 1936 in Person County, NC son of the late Thomas Lee & Ruthie Ann Wrenn Long and was husband of 62 years to Maggie Bell Dixon Long who survives. He was retired from Rollie D. Long masonry and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Carolyn L. Fuller & husband, Danny of Roxboro, NC, granddaughter, Shannon C. Lawson & husband, Chad of Semora, NC, two great grandchildren, Jaxon Lawson, Jordyn Lawson, and sister, Frances Evans of Roxboro, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Long is preceded in death by a brother, Willie Vance Long, two sisters, Ida Rae Allen, and Myrtice Clayton. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Theresa Baptist Church with the Rev.

Herbert Brown and the Rev. Larry Beaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Theresa Baptist Church and other times at the home of Carolyn & Danny Fuller, 115 Chub Lake Loop Road, Roxboro, NC. Pallbearers will be Bud Clayton, Donnie Dixon, Dayton Evans, Buddy Hamlett, Chad Lawson, Rollie D. Long, and Vance Long. Faye Benneville, Ray Benneville, Jaxon Lawson, Jordyn Lawson, and Diane Whitlow will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial gifts may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US 1 Hwy. , Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525 or to Theresa Baptist Church, 3919 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC 27574. Arrangements are by Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services, 1810 Durham, Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
