JERRY NELSON CLAYTON, age 74, of 85 Cotton Lane, Turkey, NC died Friday afternoon, October 26, 2018 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mr. Clayton was born August 29, 1944 in Person County, NC son of the late John Monroe & Mary Mildred Beaver Clayton and was husband of the late Helen Odom Clayton. He was an HVAC technician retired from both the Person County School System and CA Dillion School and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Surviving are three children, Teresa Renn & husband, Joseph of Rougemont, NC, Cynthia Hope & husband, Michael of Turkey, NC, Edward Nelson Clayton of Jackson, MS, four grandchildren, Renee Viault & husband, Jerry, Jordan LeCato & husband, Addison, Melissa Cain & husband, Austin, Bryan Clayton, five great grandchildren, Casey & Emily Viault, Aubree Mae & Carter Lane Renn, Nevaeh Cain, pet dog, Brandi, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Clayton is preceded in death by fifteen siblings and daughter, Valori Michelle Clayton. Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev.

Jeremy Quist officiating. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services, 1810 Durham Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
