Gene Calvin Eugene Edmonds , July 16, 1935 — November 26, 2018

C. EUGENE “GENE” EDMONDS age 83, of 120 Wild Wood Road, Semora, NC peacefully passed away Monday afternoon, November 26, 2018 at Duke University Hospital. Mr. Edmonds was born July 16, 1935 in Lunenburg County, VA son of the late Richard Franklin & Pattie Susan Skinner Edmonds and was husband of 31 years to the late Bobbie W. Edmonds and 22 years to the late Rena Johnson Edmonds. He was retired from Leggett’s Department Store, was also a former Magistrate in Person County and was a member of Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church.

Gene was a loving and caring Family Man. He had a genuine concern for everyone’s wellbeing. He loved the Lord and searched the Scriptures diligently.

He was a man of dignity and always desired to do the right thing. He loved his God, his Wife, his Family, his Church. His words of wisdom will continue to speak to our Hearts and Minds until we see him again.

Surviving are two sisters, Gladys E. Parham, Clara E. Adcock, four step-children, Edwin Ray Kirby, Tracy Reid Kirby & wife, Rosie, Linwood Johnson & wife, Rosalene, Charles Johnson & wife, Patricia, five step-grandchildren, Bobbie Marie Kirby, Amaris Kirby Elder & husband, Wesley, Matthew E. Kirby, Michael G. Kirby & wife, Kaila, Chip Johnson, and step-great grandson, Patrick Johnson. In addition to his parents and wives, Mr. Edmonds is preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Edmonds, Floyd Edmonds, and a step-grandson, Grayson Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev.

Ann Benson and the Rev. Donald Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and guests Thursday, November 29, from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home. Pallbearers will be Jack Ardieta, Milton Hadley, Ronnald Harris, Matthew Kirby, Michael Kirby, and Barry Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev.

Ed Bogie, Chris Davis, Lynn Rudd, Jeffrey Walker, and Will Walker. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church c/o Evelyn Duncan, 2882 Burlington Road, Roxboro, NC 27574. Arrangements are by Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services, 1810 Durham, Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
