ELEANOR HAMLIN DUNN age 97, of 737 Thaxton Road, Roxboro, NC died peacefully Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018 at Person Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Dunn was born July 28, 1921 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late James Arch & Pallie Wise Carver Hamlin and was wife of 48 years to the late Lewis Reginald Dunn. She was retired from Green’s Jewelers and was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the WMU.

Mrs. Dunn enjoyed tending to her flowers and was an avid Carolina basketball fan. Surviving are two children, Reginald Dunn, Angela D. Barker & husband, Hank all of Roxboro, NC, sister, Joy Mangum & husband, Mac of Henderson, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dunn is preceded in death by a sister, Lois Hamlin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church with the Dr. Ronn McCracken and the Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends and guests from 9:30 till 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Pallbearers will be Doug Dickerson, Ronnie Henderson, Malcolm Mangum, Johnny Tingen, Steve Tingen, and R.B. Wilborn. Flower are acceptable or memorial gifts may be made to the Providence Baptist Church General Fund, 1319 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
