JANET ELIZABETH HATCHER CLAYTON, age 86, formerly of 1575 Red Oak Drive, Roxboro, NC, died Tuesday afternoon, May 1, 2018 at Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Clayton was born February 15, 1932 in Person County, NC daughter of the late Clarence Price & Helen Elizabeth Harris Hatcher. She enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp.

and attended Roxboro Church of God. Surviving are two sons, Timothy Eugene “Gene” Clayton, Thomas William “Butch” Bowman, both of Roxboro, NC, two sisters, Barbara Weaver, Bernice Wilson, both of Roxboro, NC, three brothers, Robert Hatcher & wife, Edith, Roger Hatcher & wife, Evelyn, Ray Hatcher & wife, Linda, all of Roxboro, NC, two grandchildren, Timothy William Bowman, Tommy William Bowman, two step-grandchildren, Tommy Satterfield, Rhonda Long, seven great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clayton is preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Price Hatcher, Jr., and William Hatcher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel by the Rev. J. Harold Palmer. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Barbara Weaver, 590 Mountain Road, Roxboro, NC.
