JUANITA GAYLE MANGUS HAGOOD age 66, of 17180 Hwy. 119 North, Milton, NC died Wednesday afternoon, September 12, 2018 at UNC Hospital. Mrs. Hagood was born November 1, 1951 in Tazwell County, VA daughter of the late David Ray Mangus & the late Billie Darlene Crouse Martin and was wife of 44 years to Gary Steve Hagood, Sr. who survives.

She was a homemaker and a member of McGhee’s Mill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hagood was a hard worker who could do anything. She was a caring, simple woman that enjoyed working in her flower garden, loved animals, was very giving, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are seven children, David “Bubba” McGann & wife, Bonnie of Benson, NC, Wendy Dunlop & husband, Lenwood of Gate City, VA, Joyce Denise McGann & partner, Jennifer of Salisbury, NC, Gary Steve Hagood, Jr. & wife, Samantha of Roxboro, NC, Elizabeth Diaz & husband, Jose of Semora, NC, Penny Poole & companion, Vincent DeYoung of Roxboro, NC, James Hagood & companion, Katie Roberts of Leasburg, NC, twenty-eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three brothers, Eddie Mangus & wife, Shelly, Woody Mangus & wife, Peggy all of Lynchburg, VA, Mike Hayle of Thaxton, VA, sister, Sharon Pegram & husband, Jeff of Reidsville, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hagood is preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Jayla Hope Graves. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at McGhee’s Mill Baptist Church with the Pastor Frankie Reaves officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests Monday, September 17, 2018 from 7:30 till 9:00 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home of Penny Poole, 1392 Mill Creek Road, Roxboro, NC. Pallbearers will be Chris Bowes, Vincent DeYoung, Jose Diaz, James Hagood, Steve Hagood, and Josh Wilkins.
