Dan’s Obituary Dan Moody Thompson, 92, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Pilot Point, TX. Dan was born August 24, 1926 in Brandon, TX to Bond and Birdie Lee (Hewitt) Thompson. Dan married his sweetheart Betty Ann Davey on May 31, 1949 in Farmersville, TX.

Dan was raised on a farm near Hillsboro, TX and survived the depression. He was drafted into the Army during World War II and served in the Philippines from 1944-1946. After his military service, he began his career in the West Texas oil fields and later became a dedicated employee with the Garland ISD for many years.

Dan loved gardening, hunting, his beloved Texas Longhorns, and being a wonderful husband, dad and Papa. Dan is survived by his son, Ronald M. Thompson and wife Linda of Pilot Point, TX; daughter, Dana J. Thompson of Marlan, TX; four grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan and Trevor Thompson, and Kecia Mrus. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Bond and Birdie; wife, Betty Ann; and son Steven.

Burial is pending at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www. slaymemorialfuneralhome.com.
