Melissa’s Obituary Melissa Ann Thomas, 66, of Aubrey, TX, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019. She was born October 26, 1952 in Grand Haven, MI to Edward and Elizabeth (Kearns) Meany. Melissa married Mark Thomas on June 23, 1973 in Grand Haven, MI and was a loving wife of 45 years.

She was a devoted mother and she home schooled all of her children. Melissa is survived by her husband, Mark of Aubrey, TX; four sons, Joshua Thomas and wife Renee of Grand Rapids, MI, David Thomas and wife Dena of Midlothian, TX, Nathanael Thomas and wife Jenny of Aubrey, TX, and Seth Thomas of McKinney, TX; four daughters, Bernadette Veenstra and husband Brian of Grand Rapids, MI, Rebekah Palmer and husband Aaron of Anna, TX, Lydia Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, and Kathryn Thomas of Austin, TX; fifteen grandchildren; seven sisters, Judy White, Marion Mullin, Sue Lonnee, Sara Baxter, Elaine Ebel, Virginia Smith, and Nora Massaro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth; son Stephen Thomas; and sister, Michelle Meany.

Visitation will be held 1:00PM-2:00PM, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX with the funeral service beginning at 2:00PM. Interment will be Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.

slaymemorialfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (www. mda.org).

Contributions toward funeral expenses will also be accepted at Slay Memorial Funeral Center through Saturday, February 23, 2019. Arrangements are under the direction of Phyllis Stout and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
