Obituary for Danny G. Otey Danny G. Otey, 70, of Bristol, VA passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 9, 1948, a son of the late Robert and Minnie Nunn Otey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Otey.

Danny was a lifelong resident of Bristol, VA. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed fishing and playing softball. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Otey; three daughters, Hattie Elizabeth Poe and her fiance, Shawn Randall, Mindy Woodby and her husband, Troy, and Cindy McCraw; a special granddaughter, Cynthia Brooke Otey; three sisters, Kathy Jane Waller and Buck Wilford, Belinda Cannon and her husband, Mike, and Rita Guffey and her husband, Don; two brothers, Bobby Otey and his wife, Pam, and Gary Otey and his wife, Agnes; 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses at Ballad Health Hospice and Johnston Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Crusenberry officiating.
