Danny’s Obituary Danny Lee Sims, 57, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Sweet Springs Villa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at First Christian Church in Sweet Springs with Rev. Jack Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Missouri State Fair Foundation or Saline County Fair Association.

An online guestbook is available at www. campbell-lewis.com Born January 25, 1962 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Dewey Burdette Sims and Mayme Frances Menegali Sims. He lived in rural Sweet Springs his entire life, where he was a 1980 graduate of Sweet Springs High School, member of 4-H and FFA, and the American Simmental Association.

Danny was a livestock specialist and traveled the nation going to various livestock shows (where he was well known as “Uncle Pat”), as well as farming. He was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include one sister, Cookie Viets of rural Sweet Springs; one brother, Dewey Wayne Sims (Connie) of rural Sweet Springs; two nieces, Robin Thomas of Sweet Springs and DeEtta Murphy of Houstonia; four nephews: Michael Viets of Sweet Springs, Sean Hollrah of Columbia, Josh Sims and Jeff Sims, both of Sweet Springs, as well as his nieces and nephews families; and numerous friends who considered him family.
