Dora Alice’s Obituary Dora Alice Shannon, 91, of rural Marshall, MO, died Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Golden Oaks Residential Care in rural Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Randy DeMasters and Rev.

Randy Shannon officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery south of Marshall.

Memorials may be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church or Smith Chapel Cemetery. Friends may sign the online register book at www. campbell-lewis.com Born June 1, 1927, in rural Marshall, Dora Alice was the daughter of the late Rufus E. Arni Sr. and Flora Mae Barnes Arni.

She was a graduate of Marshall High School. On January 12, 1947, she married Carter Shannon who preceded her in death on March 13, 2018. She was a homemaker and teacher’s aide, and a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three children: Sheila Cook of Marshall, Randy Shannon and wife Vicki of rural Marshall and Sherry Werneke and husband Bill of rural Nelson; six grandchildren: Stephanie Green and husband Eric, Brian Cook and wife Lydia, Jon Shannon and wife Kelly, Bethany Spilhaus and husband Ryan, Jeremy Werneke and wife Rochelle and Adrianna Werneke; six great-grandchildren and one on the way: Abby and Carter Green, Micaela and Preston Cook, Laura and John David Shannon and baby boy Spilhaus; one brother, Larry Arni and wife Barbara of Caldwell, ID; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dora Alice was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Cook; and five brothers, Rufus, Bill, Marion, Matthew and Martin Arni. Pallbearers: Jeremy Werneke, Jon Shannon, Brian Cook, Rick Arni, Matt “Skeeter” Arni and Seth Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers: Bill Werneke, Eric Green, Ryan Spilhaus, Chuck Davis, Jim Hayslip, Shawn Arni, Don Arni, Billy Arni, Tim Thompson and Jerry Norris.
