John’s Obituary John F. Welflin, 66, of Concordia, MO, died Monday, March 18, 2019, at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Faith Baptist Church in Higginsville, MO, with Bruce Miller officiating. Memorials may be made to family choice to help defray funeral expenses in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.

Friends may sign the online register book at www. campbell-lewis.com Born January 31, 1953, in Evanston, IL, John was the son of the late Donald E. Welflin and Agnes M. Hohenstein Welflin. He was a graduate of Wheeling High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Drake University.

On June 4, 1988, he married Janice I. Fizer who survives of the home. He taught music for 17 years and was currently working at Dollar General in Concordia where he had just completed his 15th year of service. He lived in Concordia the past 12 years, moving from Higginsville, and was a Christian.

He was a big Cubs fan and enjoyed golfing. In addition to his wife, Janice, John is survived by one daughter, Leah Oliphant of Richmond, MO; one son, Donnie Welflin (Jessica) of Concordia; and two granddaughters, Kaylee Goetz and Madison Goetz. John was preceded in death by his father; mother; stepmother, Irene Welflin; and two brothers.
