Jim’s Obituary James C. (Jim) Finley, 88, of Warrensburg, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. At Jim’s request no services will be held. Inurnment will be in Garber Memorial Estates in Laurie, MO.

Memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church in Marshall in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www. campbell-lewis.com Born January 22, 1931, in Marshall, Jim was the son of the late John Calvin Finley, Ruby Thelma Cole Finley VanBuskirk and stepfather Earl VanBuskirk.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558. On August 1, 1963, he married Margueritte Howell Burton who preceded him in death on September 13, 2010. He moved from Malta Bend in 1975 to Osceola, returning to Marshall in 2011 and had lived in Warrensburg since 2018.

He retired from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1992. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Finley and Susan Craig of Delavan, IL; two stepsons, Garry Burton (Valerie) of San Diego, CA and Danny Burton (Terri) of Butler, MO; two granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Thomazine Riley of Marshall; and several nieces, nephews, step-nieces and step-nephews.

In addition to his father, mother and stepfather, Jim was preceded in death by one son, Danny Jim Finley; and one sister, Eugenia Lee Samson.
