Charles’ Obituary Charles W. Lance, 83, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Saturday, March 3, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Sweet Springs First Baptist Church with Bro. Kris Raven and Rev.

Jim West officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home and an online guestbook is available at www. campbell-lewis.com Born February 22, 1936 in Wyaconda, MO, he was the son of the late Clarence A. Lance and Gertrude Steele Lance. Charles lived in Carrollton and Kansas City until entering the United States Air Force in 1953.

He served 3 years as an Airman and was honorably discharged in 1956. Following his discharge, he returned to Kansas City and joined the Kansas City Fire Department. He resigned from KCFD in 1966 and pursued a multivaried life.

He worked as an insurance salesman, home builder, and then owned and operated Lance Auto Investments from 1989 until his death. Charles was an avid member of the NRA, American Legion Post 279 in Sweet Springs, as well as several auto organizations. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Sweet Springs First Baptist Church, The Gideon’s International, and supported many charities.

He is survived by two daughters, Angela McDaniel (Chuck) of Tulsa, OK, and Phamie Corn (Norby) of Buckner, MO; two sons, Richard Lance (Faye) of Holden, MO, and Clarence Lance (Sandi) of Oak Grove, MO; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Jones of Carrollton, MO, and Gloria Ellis of Hardin, MO; two brothers, Jim Lance of Mesquite, TX, and Terry Lance of Carrollton, MO; as well as nieces and nephews.
