Ruth’s Obituary Ruth M. Bakert, 86, of Gilliam, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at home. Private services will be held. Friends may sign the online register book at www.

campbell-lewis.com Born October 4, 1932, in Saline County, MO, Ruth was the daughter of the late Gillis Howery and Anna Spiers Howery. On October 21, 1950, she married Howard L. Bakert and they were married for 63 years before his death on December 27, 2013. She lived in Saline County most of her life and in the state of California for a few years.

She was a secretary for most of her life for schools, and the city of Marshall where she retired in 1996 after 16 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four children: Madeline K. Blackwell of rural Marshall, Howard T. “Toby” Bakert of Marshall, Sharen L. Deibel of rural Miami and Kelley A. Bakert of Gilliam; seven grandchildren, Michael Bakert, Michelle Werts, Courtney Arndt, Lyndsey Williams, Andy Bakert, Aaron Bakert and Robert Bakert Vollmer; several great-grandchildren, nieces nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Anna Sha Deibel and Anna Marie Bakert; two brothers, George Howery and Herbert Howery; and one sister, Marjorie Howery Coslet. Ruth was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
