Obituary for Daryl Ray Mills Sr. Daryl Ray Mills, Sr., 70, of 1456 Myrtle Ave. , Danville, VA, died on Thursday, June 28, 2018, after a decline in health for the past several years. Mr. Mills was born in Danville, VA on December 9, 1947, a son of the late Carl Van Buren Mills and the late Magdaline Dalton Mills.

He spent most of his life in the Danville area where he worked as an electrician for Elliott’s Electric. He was a veteran of the US Army who proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was an honorary life member of the American Legion Post 325 for forty-one years, where he served as past Commander and past First Vice Commander.

He was of the Baptist faith. On October 29, 1982, he married Debra Little Mills, who died on November 26, 2009. Survivors include a son, Daryl “Ray” Mills, Jr. and wife Michelle; a daughter, Kelly Mills Cook; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Jerry Mills and wife Sallye Ann; and a nephew, Nathanael Mills.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post 1097 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Danville Cancer Assocation at 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J Danville, VA 24541.
