David’s Obituary David Lee Pauley, 78, of South Charleston, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Hubbard Hospice House West at Thomas Memorial Hospital, after a long illness, with his sister Karen at his side. He was the son of the late Emanual Pauley and Clarice Hatfield. David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was also a retired auto body specialist and construction worker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Genelea; daughter, Laura Lee; sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Orus “O.D.” Dearman; baby sister, Betty Diane; and brother, Edward of Waukon, Iowa. He is survived by sisters Karen Pauley and Sue Kopnisky, both of Charleston, three nieces and three nephews.

Special thanks to good friends Bob Kelley, Cindy Edwards, and Cruz Vandall, who along with sister Karen, lovingly cared for David until the day of his death, also to his high school sweetheart, Reba Gillispie. Sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the ICU nurses at Thomas Memorial Hospital who took such wonderful care of David. Per his request, a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, in Graceland Memorial Park, 100 Graceland Circle, South Charleston.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House West, 4605 MacCorkle Ave, SW, South Charleston, WV 25309. Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
