Obituary of David Robinson David E. Robinson, 81, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born in Marion on September 3, 1937, and was a lifelong resident. David was the son of Clyde and Wilma (Bunch) Robinson.

He married his sweetheart, Janice “Jan” Dilley, on Valentine’s Day in 1989, and she survives. David was a 1955 graduate of Marion High School, and he attended the University of Wisconsin. He served in the Air Force and, following his military service, he eventually settled in as the Director of Plant Engineering at Marion General Hospital.

He retired in 2000 after 32 years of service. He attended Grace Community Church and was a member of American Legion 0010 and The Elks Country Club. David was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golfing, NASCAR/Indy racing, and especially fishing with his daughter.

He followed the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Cubs, and Indiana Pacers. Other special interests included going to casinos, painting, reading, taking cruise ship vacations, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Janice “Jan”; children, Barbara (Tony) Danforth, Noblesville, David (Karen) Robinson, Johnstown, CO, and Angie Drook, Marion; grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Robinson, Derek Robinson, Anthony (Nicole) Danforth, Mickie (Tim) Barsic, Mia (Nicholas Graczyk) Sweet, Jennifer (Stephen) Perdue, Bethany Santorelli, Jordan Drook, Braden Drook, Clayton Drook, and Camden Drook; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn (Gerald) Edgerton and Becky (Wayne) McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Robinson. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with David’s funeral service beginning at 12 noon on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN.
