Dennis’ Obituary Dennis “Mike” Greene, 71, of Gastonia, passed away January 24, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born August 3, 1947 in Rutherford County, the son of the late Dennis Alton Greene and Marie Thomas Greene. Mike was a US Airforce Vietnam Veteran.

He retired after many years from Pinkerton Tobacco Company then spent more than 12 years working for Lincoln County Sheriffs’ Office. He was also a member of Gaston Masonic Lodge #263. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Judy Phillips Greene; son, Richard Horne and wife Traci; daughters, Jennifer Griggs and husband Ben, and Karen Heston; brother, Charles Greene and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Ethan and Abbey Horne, Lauren and Lindsay Smith, Bailey, Ashley and Zach Griggs, Ariel, Kaley and Noah Heston; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Kylie and Kinslee.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Sunday at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. David MacEachern. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd.

, Gastonia. Burial with military honors by the United States Air Force and masonic rites will be held in Gaston Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Gaston County Shrine Club, 505 Pinkney Road, Dallas, NC 28034.
