Donald Gordon, 85, of Asheboro, died Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at West Asheboro Baptist Church with Evangelist Chris Joyce officiating. Burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park Born in Randolph County on April 15, 1933, son of Vernon Jones Gordon and Janette Bulla Gordon.

He retired from Arrow Precision. Donald enjoyed fixing things and working with his tractor. He was a man of few words, a hard worker, and a sweet, gentle man.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Owens Gordon; brothers, Edsel Wade Gordon, and Vernon Maxton Gordon; sister, Frances McNeill; niece, Lakita Hinson Luck; and nephew Ricky McNeill. He is survived by his son, Vernon Lee Gordon of the home; granddaughter Alena Gordon Cushman (Rob), of Lake Comerant, MS; grandson, Jeremy Gordon of Ann Arbor, Michigan; great grandchildren, Lia and Caden Cushman, of Lake Comerant, MS; sister Barbara Gordon Hinson of Randleman, NC. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home between 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m, Thursday, March 7, 2019, and at other times at the home.
