Donald “Don” Leo Govan, 72, passed away Sunday, December 09, 2018. He was born July 11, 1946 in Detroit, MI to the late Richard Joseph Govan and Eugenia Marie Kuhn Govan. Don honorably served his country in the US Navy.

He was member of St. Eugene Catholic Church and served with the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree knight. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 608 Lions Club Rd, Wendell, 27591. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545 followed by a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm.

Surviving: wife, Claire Vernier Govan; children: Nicole Govan Martin (Michael) of Raleigh, Cheryl Govan Garner (Alan) of Youngsville, Donald Govan (Stefanie) of Youngsville; grandchildren: Austin, Noah and Caleb Martin, Cassie Garner, Raylan and Oliver Govan; multiple brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LAMB Foundation of North Carolina, Inc., 6420-A1 Rea Road, Suite 312, Charlotte, NC 28277.
