Doris Ellen Rude, 92, of Marquette and formerly of Columbiaville, MI, passed away on October 7, 2018 after a lingering illness. Doris was born on July 19, 1926 in Lapeer, MI, to the late Charles and Mabel (Dockham) Burley. She grew up in the Barnes Lake area.

On February 5, 1949 she married Glen James Rude and they made their home of 60 years in Columbiaville before he preceded her in death in 2008. Together, Glen and Doris raised three sons, Ron (Brenda) of Marquette, Randall of St. Johns, MI and Rodney who preceded them in death in 1993. She is also survived by three grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Rude of Las Vegas, Jaceley (Steve) Babcock of Marquette and Amber Rude of Marquette; her adored great grandson, Theodore James Babcock; her brother, Norman (Rosemary) Burley of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, husband and son, Doris was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Carlisle and Pearl Armstrong, as well as her brother, Lloyd Burley and their spouses.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a small memorial service and burial will take place in the Spring of 2019 at the Deerfield Township Cemetery.
