Wunderlich, 96 of Marinette passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at BAMC. She was born on July 12, 1922 to the late John and Bessie (Solper) Schuchart in Menominee. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1940.

From March 7, 1944 until April 6, 1946 she served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave and was very proud of that. On June 19, 1948 Dorothea married George Wunderlich in Marinette. George preceded her in death on October 8, 2003.

She worked as a clerk in the Marinette Selective Services office until the end of the draft and then worked for the Marinette County Department of Social Services until retiring. George and Dorothea spent many winters in Florida and also had a place in Marinette County for the summer where they entertained the kids and grandchildren. Dorothea is survived by two sons: John (Kathi) Wunderlich of Green Bay and Gary Wunderlich of Athelstane; a daughter: Peggy (Robert) Kornetzke of Plymouth; nine grandchildren: Chad, Sara, Kelly, Jason, Matthew, Jennifer, Jacob, Jared, and Michelle; twelve great grandchildren: Reese, Kaitlyn, Aidan, Chase, Mason, Colton, Payton, Josie, Preston, Xachery, Serenity, and Autumn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son David, a daughter Maribeth, and a brother Richard Schuchart. Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Tuesday March 19th from 4pm to 6pm. A wake Service will be held at 6pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at Holy Family Parish Our Lady of Lourdes Taylor St at 11am with Reverend Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
