Dorothy Dot Thelma Hoyle , September 01, 1937 — October 04, 2018

Dorothy “Dot” Thelma Hoyle, age 81, of Old Fort, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on the evening of Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Autumn Care of Marion. A lifelong resident of McDowell County, Dot was born on September 1, 1937 and was the last surviving child of the late Mills and Rosa Jamerson Hoyle. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Pritchard and Emma Randolph; five brothers, Zeb, Tom, Brooks, Jack and Johnny Hoyle; and a special niece who was like her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Storie.

Known for her kind and tender heart, Dot loved her family, and she took great pride in taking care of them. She is survived by a special great niece, Kimberly Shores; nieces and nephews, Kathy Ricker (Gary), Jerry Randolph (Janice), Doris Evans (Terry), Sherry Reel (Darrell), Francis Banner (Randy), Roy Hoyle and Judy Silver (Freddy); along with their children. Dot is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Hoyle, who she enjoyed traveling with, and Rethel Hoyle.

A service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
