Obituary for Dorothy May Stairs Dorothy May Stairs, 91, of Grand Island, passed away June 29, 2018 at Grand Island Lakeview Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 6, 2018 at All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend Russell Wolf will be officiating.

Dorothy was born on June 25, 1927 in Kansas. She grew up in Grand Island, where she received her education. In her younger adult life, Dorothy was an over-the-road trucker, then later working as a barmaid.

Dorothy was married to Dwight Stairs. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, country music, animals, crossword puzzles, sitting outside, and collecting porcelain dolls and knick-knacks. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sheila Johnson of Grand Island, Gary Stanford of Grand Island, and JoAnn Everly of Missouri; as well as multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
