Obituary for Van Harlan Berry Jr. Van Harlan Berry Jr., 85, of Grand Island passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018. To honor Van’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family inurnment. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Van was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Van Berry Sr. and Gladys (Brandon) Berry. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. Van served with the Army Reserve in San Diego.

After relocating to Grand Island, he was employed by Mid-Nebraska Tank Company for several years. His faith was an important part of Van’s life and he was a deacon with his church. Van loved his wife and family.

He had a knack for making people feel special. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Dee Knight of Tulsa, OK, Jennie (Dieter) Eberl of Golden, CO, Van Berry III of Tahlequah, OK and David Berry of Hastings; twelve grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Green, Paul (Justine) Knight, Sam Boyd, Lorissa Chappell, Van Berry IV, Victoria Brown, Alexandria Berry, Cody Berry, Mandy Massey, Mayla and Marshal Berry; and five great-grandchildren, Claire and Drew Green, Emerson Knight, Charlie Mooney, and William Cole. He was preceded by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Barbara Dee (Williams) Berry and his parents.
