Obituary for Tessa Lynn Knight Tessa Lynn Knight, 36, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Grand Island, passed away September 10th at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. A celebration of Tessa’s life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, September 22nd at All Faiths Funeral Home, 2929 S. Locust St. Grand Island NE. Dan Naranjo will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the Tatum Knight education fund at Five Points Bank in Grand Island. Tessa was born on July 25, 1982 to William “Kirby” Knight and Stephanie Cooper in Grand Island NE. She grew up in Omaha and Grand Island and graduated high school from Grand Island Central Catholic in 2000.

She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln NE and graduated in 2004 with majors in elementary and special education. Tessa was known as an amazing special education teacher who had a heart for challenging kids and saw the best in them no matter what the circumstances. She worked as a teacher for many years in Nebraska, California and Arizona.

She most recently worked at Donaldson Elementary School and Cross Middle School in Tucson Arizona. She also devoted many hours working with youth at Casa D’Amore Family Care in Tucson where she was known for treating the youth as her own and was a motherly figure who provided comfort and guidance to young boys with traumatic pasts. Her memory lives on in the countless youth she devoted her life to helping.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tatum Knight; Tessa’s Fiancé, Oscar Mazzini of Tucson, AZ; father, Kirby (Debbie) Knight of Grand Island NE; mother, Stephanie (Wendell) Cooper of Colorado Springs CO; stepmother, Angie Knight of Grand Island NE; brothers, Matthew (Nicole) Knight of Yokosuka Japan, Blaine (Crystal) Knight of Bellevue NE, Chas Knight of Lincoln NE and Weston Cooper of Omaha NE, and sisters, Cassie Cooper of Tulsa OK and Rachel (Paul) Pridham of Bellevue NE and grandparents, Richard and Barbara Gillham of Doniphan, NE. She is preceded in death by grandparents, William R. and Dorothy Knight; uncle, Kevin Knight and cousins, Christian and Jozie, infant children of Tony and Sarah Campa.
