Obituary for John Edward Janssen John Edward Janssen, 38 of Grand Island, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 25th at Third City Christian Church, 4100 W. 13th St., Grand Island. Pastor Scott Jones will officiate.

Burial will be at 2 PM Thursday at the Juniata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. John was born December 2, 1979 in Hastings; the son of Ronald and Denise (Kelly) Janssen.

He was raised and received his education in Juniata. Following graduation from Adams Central High School in 1998 he earned his associate’s degree from Central Community College-Hastings in tool and die. On September 28, 2013 he was united in marriage to Aubrey Logsdon.

John has been employed by Cardinal Tool and Die Company in Grand Island for the past 14 years. John was a jack of all trades and a master of all. He helped anyone and did it to perfection.

As he battled cancer at the age of five, he learned to appreciate life to its fullest. Some of his enjoyments were mechanics, woodworking, restoring his 1982 Jeep Scrambler, and making his twins laugh. He and Aubrey are members of Third City Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Aubrey; their three-year old twin’s, Cadence and Cooper; his parents, Ron and Denise Janssen of Juniata; sister, Kelly (Tom) Zeckser of Grand Island; nephews, Jake and Joey Zeckser; parents-in-law, Marci and Larry Logsdon of Lincoln; brothers-in-law, Benjamin (Kathy) Logsdon and nephew Oliver Logsdon, Caleb Logsdon, Isaac Logsdon and Noah Logsdon and his honorary grandpa, AJ (Brenda) Haller of Grand Island. He is preceded in death by Baby Hope Janssen, grandparents, Barbara, Nita and John Janssen, Bill Kelly and Dorothy Kelly, and nephew Jack Agustus Logsdon. Memorials are suggested to either Wilms’ Tumor-Childhood Kidney Cancer Research or the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge-Omaha.
