Obituary for James Michael “Jim” Joyce James M. “Jim” Joyce, 73, of Grand Island passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. At Jim’s request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Grand Island City Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Jim was born October 8, 1944 in Boston, MA, the son of James and Mary (Geary) Joyce. On November 20, 1963, at the age of 19, he entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged November 19, 1965. Jim was united in marriage to Linda D. Gibson on August 13, 1965, while the couple were stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

An all-around great guy who never knew a stranger, Jim loved the Boston sports teams. Those who will cherish his memory include his daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Robert Ellis of Whitman, MA; grandson, Mitch Ellis; sisters, Anne Jowder of MA and Mary Joyce of FL; nephew, Brian Jowder and niece, Bridget Jowder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, in 2016; his parents; and an infant grandson.
