Obituary for Ellen Marie Monie Ellen Marie Monie, 104, of Grand Island passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at CHI Skilled Care. Burial will be in the Danish Lutheran Cemetery, in Colfax County. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.

Ellen was born April 27, 1914 in Howells, Nebraska, the daughter of Martin L. and Henrika (Peterson) Anderson. She grew up in Howells and Schuyler. She was married to Glen Bailey and later married John Monie.

Ellen was employed by BD Medical in Columbus, as a seamstress with Mododay, a clerk at Earl May, and for Dr. Lemons at his veterinary clinic in Hastings. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, horses and cats. Those who will cherish her memory include her son, David (JoAnn) Bailey; grandchildren, Dan Bailey, Vicki Hellbusch, Mike (Stacy) Bailey, Bruce Bailey, Brian Bailey all of Grand Island; Melinda Bailey, Becky Wolfe and Martin Bailey of Washington; seventeen great grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren, three nieces, and the nursing staff at skilled care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel Bailey; an infant son; granddaughters, Jennifer Jim and Christine Bailey; sister, Irene Anderson Hahn, and brother, Harold Anderson. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ellen Marie Monie please visit our Sympathy Store.
