Michael John Thomson, November 11, 1955 — November 20, 2018

Obituary for Michael John Thomson Michael J. Thomson 63, of St. George Utah, formerly of Grand Island, NE passed away Tuesday November 20, 2018 of natural causes. To honor Mike’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life gathering will be on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 3 pm, at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Reverend Scott Jones will officiate. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A burial of ashes will be on Saturday at 10am, at the Aurora Cemetery.

Mike was born Nov. 11, 1955 to Andrew and Melania (Budler) Thomson in Grand Island, NE. He received his education and graduated from Central City.

NE. He married Deborah Neighbors June 19, 1976 in Grand Island. Where they made their home and had two sons, Jonathan and Jeremy.

He worked at various factories in Grand Island until 1986 when he became manager of Waynes Music. He worked there for over 14 years, before he then went on to work for Merrick Machine. Around 2010 Mike moved to St. George Utah to be with his girlfriend and started working at Family Pawn where he remained until his death.

Mike loved music and played as drummer in many bands throughout the years. He collected drums and musical equipment and shared this passion with others. He liked to fish, and did so often with his boys as they were growing up.

Mike enjoyed football with his favorite teams being the Huskers and the Saints, as well as cooking and sharing pictures of his great food with others. He also loved riding the road on his Harley. Those left to cherish his memory include: sons Jonathan (Tabatha) Thomson of Grand Island, NE and Jeremy (Tayler) Thomson-Tyan of Burleson, TX.

Mother Melania Thomson of Archer, NE, Sister Marcella (Joe) Bstandig of Gretna, NE. His grandchildren Dylan and Layla Thomson of Grand Island NE, nieces, nephew and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father Andrew Thomson and special K-9 friend Gigi.
