Obituary for Jean Marie Shoemaker Jean Marie (Anderson) Shoemaker, 79, of Dannebrog, NE, died on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Grand Island Park Place. To honor Jean’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. There will be a private burial of ashes at a later date in Piqua, Ohio.

All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family. Jean was born April 3, 1939 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of George and Gladys (Drake) Anderson. Upon graduating from Miami University of Ohio, Jean began teaching and taught until her retirement in Ohio and Nebraska.

She then volunteered with American Red Cross with disaster relief, traveling whenever and where ever she was needed. Jean was united in marriage to Michael Shoemaker. She was a member of Grand Island Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved her leadership role as Master Guide in the Pathfinder program.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Lynnea Spencer; son, Gregor Stephensen; stepdaughter, Roberta Christen; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and many friends.
