Edna Mae Wimsett Young, 89, of Bardstown, passed away Friday May 25, 2018 at Colonial Health and Rehab. She was born September 9, 1928 in Bardstown, retired as a Charge Aide for Colonial Health and Rehab, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Young; son, Gregory Allen Young; parents, Will and Julia Wimsett; sisters, Margaret Wimsett, Amie Mattingly, Lucille Cundiff; and brothers, Joe Wimsett, Edward Wimsett.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Rose (Ronny) Ransdell of Boston; son, James Ronald Young of Louisville; four grandchildren, Joshua (Kariane) Ransdell, Daniel (Kelly) Ransdell, Davis (Shavon) Ransdell, Gabe Ransdell; five great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ray Allen of Bardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Wednesday May 30, 2018 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev.

Terry Bradshaw will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Tuesday May 29, 2018 and 9 to 10:15 am Wednesday May 30 at Barlow Funeral Home.
