Obituary of Edward Allen Comer, Jr. Edward Allen Comer, Jr., 72, Fairmount, passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center in LaFontaine after a long illness. The son of Edward A. and Ruth (Strohl) Comer, Sr., Edward was born on August 13, 1946, in Gas City. He attended Mississinewa High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Edward was a nursing assistant at the VA Medical Center in Marion and retired after 23 years of service. He enjoyed working on the computer and going fishing. He was formerly an avid hunter.

He is survived by his daughters: Amber Lutton, TN, and Erin Bowman, IN; 6 grandchildren; sisters: Ilene Bell, Gas City; Patricia A. Robinson, Fairmount; and Carolyn (Paul) Cox, Fairmount; brother-in-law, Everett Cox, Daleville; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward A. (Ruth) Comer, Sr.; sisters, Helen Peer, Iona Headley, and Martha Cox; and brother, Charles Lynch. A funeral service for Edward will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at VA Protestant Chapel, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.

Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial following at 1 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Online condolences may be made at www.
