Elizabeth Lee Brown Ward December 02, 1933 – January 04, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Elizabeth Lee Brown Ward, age 85, passed away on January 4, 2019 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville. Mrs. Ward was born to the late Edgar Paul Brown and the late Elizabeth Sprouse Brown in Albemarle County. She was married in 1951, to the late Harry Channing Ward, for 51 years.

Mrs. Ward was a member of Mt. Eagle Baptist Church. She loved her family and she is known for never letting anyone leave her home hungry.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her four children, Linda Bryant and her husband, Jimmy; Alice Offield her husband, Jim; Charles Ward and his wife, Wilma; and Robert Ward and his wife, Shelby; eight grandchildren, Angela Breeden and her husband, Ricky; Christina Brodt and her husband, Ben; Charles Ward, Jr. and his wife Myriam; David Ward and his wife, Maureen; Kimberly Saul and her husband, Thomas; Katelyn Willis and her husband, Alex; Amber Ward and her fiancée, Ricky Cayton and Kelsey Fisher and her husband, Dakota; and great grandchildren, Kaiden and Kamden Breeden; Ashlyn Wyatt and Whitleigh Brodt; Carlos, Kaylee and Quinn Ward; Avery, Olivia and Nathaniel Ward; Liam and Ryan Saul; Noah Willis and Nickole Cayton and her sisters, Martha Farrish and her husband, Sam and Margaret Makepeace. Mrs. Ward is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Edgar Brown, Richard Brown, Paul Brown, Mary Jane Johnson and Virginia Turner and her granddaughter, Crystal Ward.

The family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home of Charlottesville. The funeral service will be on Monday, January 7 at 11 a.m. in the Hill and Wood Chapel with burial following at Monticello Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to send a special thank you to UVA Hospital staff and the M.I.C.U.
