Randolph Lester Dorrier July 16, 1952 – January 04, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Randolph “Randy” Lester Dorrier, 66, of Charlottesville, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home with his mother beside him, holding his hand. Randy was born on July 16, 1952 in Charlottesville, Virginia, the son of the late Gust L. Dorrier. A true “Belmont Boy”, he attended Clark Elementary School and graduated from Lane High School in 1970.

Randy had a long career as Produce Manager for A&P, Safeway and Colonial. He was passionate about hunting and fishing, motorcycles and fast cars. Randy had an easy way with people, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing; he truly never met a stranger.

He also loved his pet family, many dedicated Boxers including Levi, and his cat Skyler. All were loyal to him to the end. Randy leaves behind his loving mother Virginia Collier Dorrier, his devoted fiancée of 28 years, Barbara Rogers, and a dear sister, Beth Dorrier Bishop and her husband Gary, and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

His family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday January 7, 2019 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. His family thanks Dr. James Bergin and the Heart and Vascular Staff at UVA for their specialized care of Randy. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to Hinton Avenue UMC, 750 Hinton Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
