Elizabeth Ortega August 23, 1957 ~ February 1, 2019 Elizabeth Ortega, 61, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 peacefully in her home. She was born August 23, 1957 in Tijuana, Mexico to Jose Gonzalez and Esperanza Lopez Campuzano Ramirez. She was employed at Kroger as a machine operator.
Elizabeth leaves a legacy of laughs, generosity, faith, and good times. She lived a multifaceted kind of life. At home she would crochet and live a quiet reserved life.
However, when it was time to let loose she was the life at any party. Her quick wit had everyone laughing out loud and wanting more of her shenanigans. She was known to be an exceptional cook.
Her cooking skills would have left famous chef Gordon Ramsey’s hands trembling in fear. Elizabeth also had other unique talents that included superior senses and dream foreshadowing. Her superior senses were her hearing and smell.
There was never a scent or whisper that could get past her. Her dream foreshadowing might have been her most unique talent. She would be able to dream of new life events right before they would happen.
For example, she knew when family members were pregnant even before the family member knew they were pregnant! One of Elizabeth’s major qualities in life was her generosity. She was never a rich woman, but she joyfully gave much of her finances and possessions to family members in need.
When visiting family in Mexico her car was always loaded to the max with gifts and household necessities. There was hardly any room for the passengers in the car. When she would return from her trip, her car was still loaded to the max with gifts for her family at home and work friends.
When she took her weekend trips to Wendover on the fun bus most of her winnings would not be kept, but given to family in one way or another. Fun random facts about Elizabeth: She once was enrolled in a Mexican Police Academy where she learned Jiu Jitsu. Her kids can attest to her skill when play wrestling.
She could pin them down with no way of escape. She loved listening to oldies music. Her favorite band was Creedence Clearwater Rival.
In her younger years, Elizabeth was friends with famed guitarist Santana. She and her friends would listen to him play in rooms filled with empty chairs. If there is one way Elizabeth would like to be remembered, it was for her strength to persevere through all of life’s hardships.
Until the end she would put on her hot pink lipstick and a black sequin shirt with her head held high and would face life head on. Her of strength came from her faith in God. She lived this life with the strength of a bear, grace of an owl, mind of an elephant, and a spirit of a lion.
